Similar to Dune Analytics, DappQuery is a community-driven analytics platform for ETH that allows its users to query the blockchain using SQL. However, DaAppQuery aims to make the process much simpler by using Visual SQL. The Ethereum blockchain has more than 13 million blocks, with 200 transactions recorded per block. Thus, there is a need to query this information in a reliable way.
While Dune is used by SQL power users, DappQuery hopes to offer a one-stop-shop for everyone.
The vision of the platform is as follows, “Blockchain is not designed to perform advanced analytics on smart contracts data. We aim to change this with empowering everyone to easily understand the smart contract data, do analysis and easily build beautiful charts and dashboards.”
As well as offering queries, DappQuery allows users to visualize on-chain data as charts and export it.
DappQuery offers a number of categorized metrics that users can view and visualize. Furthermore, users can add their own metrics to a dashboard, something uncommon in the chain-analysis space. DappQuery collects its data from smart contracts on Ethereum, and converts it to a human-readable format.
After extracting the data needed, users can choose the best types of visualization as the platform offers different types of charts.
DappQuery users don’t need to create their own dashboards if they don’t want, as there is a list of community-voted popular dashboards they can view. These dashboards can be exported into CSV, XLS, and JSON. Or, they can be shared via URL.
Reports for dashboards and charts can also be scheduled, which will arrive regularly in a user’s inbox.
DappQuery offers different plans for users, including a Free Plan, Pro Plan ($199), and a Premium Plan ($299). The free plan isn’t recommended as it lacks many features, however, it is useful for new users who would like to sample the platform before purchasing.
DappQuery offers users a more simple way to query the blockchain with the use of Visual SQL, which is much easier than SQL. The UI is fantastic and interactive, and the pricing plans are more competitive than alternatives. One drawback however is the lack of ability to edit charts, something the community has pined after for some time.
